Alice & Olin's Wedding in Homer

The first weekend after returning to Alaska from India, Andrew and I drove down to Homer to attend Alice and Olin's wedding. We drove down late Friday evening, spent Saturday morning exploring the town a bit, went to the wedding at the Catholic church in the early afternoon, then went to Lands End for the reception in the afternoon/evening. It was a beautiful day, cloudy with occasional showers, but it only rained when we were indoors anyways. Sunday we explored the spit for a little while and then made our way up to the Kenai river to say hi to Melissa's family there before driving back to Anchorage. It was a great weekend, the wedding and reception were beautiful and a lot of fun, Alice was beautiful, Olin was tall and handsome, and Andrew and I got to spend some nice quality time together catching up after my being gone for so long.

Munnar 2010

Here are pictures from my trip to Munnar. Munnar is a hill station town that is surrounded by/covered with tea plantations. There are a lot of spices grown in the area too. This was my second time up there, as I'd gone up there with Chris when I was here last time. It was definitely worth going twice though. And I saw a few new things, like the tea museum. The homestay we stayed at was amazing (Royal Mist Homestay). It was quiet and peaceful and the family was wonderful.

Biztax Outing

These are pictures and videos from the day long outing I went on with a bunch of the people I work with here. We all piled in a non-A/C bus at 8 in the morning and headed to a beautiful spot along the Periyar river where we spent a few hours enjoying the water. Then we drove up to Athirapally Falls (see my December 3rd, 2008 post for pictures from my last trip to these falls) for a short visit before driving back to Kochi that evening.
